Mud Hole Custom Tackle, Coastal Conservation Association (CCA) Florida, and the Duke Energy Mariculture Center have come collectively once more in an effort to enhance the well being of native fisheries and ecosystems. This time with the discharge of over 15,000 juvenile redfish at Ramp Road Park. This was achieved as a part of the East Coast Redfish Restocking Initiative: \u201cRelease the East.\u201d\u00a0 This juvenile fish launch was the results of years of effort and planning. All of it’s in an effort to assist and develop the redfish inhabitants in Florida\u2019s Indian River Lagoon.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Indian River is such an important ecosystem to the east coast of Florida, and we are proud to work with CCA Florida to help with its preservation\u201d stated Brook Oliva, Mud Hole Custom Tackle President. \u201cIt\u2019s been amazing to work with Brian and the whole CCA team over the past two years on this program. From catching the broodstock to today\u2019s release of thousands of redfish, it\u2019s been a rewarding effort for the Mud Hole Custom Tackle team.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The Release the East initiative is the east coast extension of CCA Florida and Duke Energy Mariculture Center\u2019s profitable west coast redfish stocking program. Both of those initiatives are centered on revitalizing the declining redfish populations alongside each Florida\u2019s East and West Coasts. The launch of the over 15,000 juvenile redfish was just the start of this, with plans for at the least 100,000 purple fish to be launched all through the month.<\/p>\n
