Vacaya set sail on the primary all-LGBTQIA expedition cruise in Antarctica aboard Ponant\u2019s Le Boreal.<\/p>\n
The expedition departed from Ushuaia, Argentina on December 7, 2022, and started the two-and-a-half-day crossing of the Drake Passage, in accordance with a press launch.<\/p>\n
The co-founder of Vacaya, Randle Roper mentioned: \u201cIt\u2019s taken over 200 years of Antarctic exploration to get here, but with Vacaya, the LGBTQIA+ community has now officially left their mark on the 7th continent! The incredible work of the Vacaya team, our Expedition Leaders, and our fearless Captain made this journey possible.\u201d<\/p>\n
On December 10, the vacationers, also called The Vacayans (those that journey with Vacaya ) stepped foot on \u201cThe Ice\u201d in Neko Harbor, Antarctica.<\/p>\n
\u201cI thank Vacaya for such an open-minded and fun sailing. I\u2019m proud to be a part of this history-making expedition,\u201d mentioned Le Boreal Captain Florian Richard.<\/p>\n
Apart from being the primary all-LGBTQIA+ expedition cruise to Antarctica, Vacaya additionally disembarked a bunch of drag queens onto the continent: Sister Helen Holy (Paul J. Williams), The Liquor Mini (Danny Cabrera), Pissi Myles (Joseph D\u2019Angio), Mini More (Stephen Harms), and Dixie Longate (Kris Andersson) planted the pleasure flag onto the continent to mark the event.<\/p>\n
\u201cWords don\u2019t do Antarctica justice. To be part of this historic expedition with Vacaya and my queer family is beyond my wildest dreams,\u201d mentioned Jacob Carson, a Vacaya explorer from Orlando, Florida.<\/p>\n

From a strictly personal perspective, I\u2019ve had a fascination with penguins since early adulthood, and my home is full of penguin collectibles.
