European Regions Airline Association (ERA) has this week welcomed a number of new airline representatives to its extremely skilled Board, together with KLM Cityhopper, SATA Air A\u00e7ores and Wider\u00f8e.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The ERA<\/strong> Board<\/strong> continues to strengthen with the addition of three new representatives, following ERA\u2019s most up-to-date election. The new airline representatives, every bringing with them a wealth of information and expertise, embody: Maarten Koopmans<\/strong>, Managing Director, KLM Cityhopper<\/strong>; Lu\u00eds Rodrigues<\/strong>, President and CEO, SATA Air A\u00e7ores<\/strong>; and Silje Brandvoll<\/strong>, Vice President Communications and Public Relations, Wider\u00f8e<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

As a seasoned airline skilled, KLM Cityhopper\u2019s Koopmans holds broad expertise, together with being energetic in airline sustainability and KLM\u2019s worldwide main place. Koopmans mentioned: \u201cIt is fundamental to bring our industry to a sustainable future and for our European policy and decision makers to understand how to reach that path. I am personally committed to lead the industry to a real sustainable future. Being part of the ERA Board gives me the voice to bring these plans and ideas across to policy and decision makers.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

With perception from an ultra-peripheral area of Europe, SATA Air A\u00e7ores\u2019 Rodrigues has expertise of constructing consensus in extremely polarised and difficult contexts, notably following current transformation at SATA airways. Rodrigues mentioned: \u201cEurope is, more than anything, a social construct, where the risk exists that peripheral entities and people are kept aside. The ERA Board plays a critical role in bringing our airlines to the centre of relevant discussions and brings insight and learning to the regions.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

A devoted communications and public relations specialist with an in depth trade monitor report, Wider\u00f8e\u2019s Brandvoll has labored carefully with ERA for a number of years by way of different capabilities, and is a powerful believer within the energy of collaboration. Brandvoll mentioned: \u201cThere is no doubt that policy over the last few years has seriously damaged European connectivity, skewed the competition in regional airlines disfavour and made it very hard for European regional airlines to present a profitable operation. We need ERA to voice our concerns and the possible consequences of such policies if allowances are not made.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Welcoming the brand new representatives, Montserrat Barriga<\/strong>, Director General, ERA, mentioned: \u201cI am very pleased to have Maarten, Lu\u00eds and Silje join the ERA Board. All three bring with them expansive knowledge within the aviation industry, as well as commitment to protecting the regions of Europe, and they all come from airlines that provide essential sustainable connectivity within our continent.
