The City of Toronto has amended Chapter 349 of its Animal Bylaw to ban the feeding of wildlife.<\/p>\n

As of April 1, it grew to become unlawful to feed wildlife or depart meals out to draw animals on private and non-private property. The feeding of songbirds continues to be permitted, supplied the feeder is saved in a sanitary situation and doesn’t act as an attractant to different wildlife.<\/p>\n

Toronto Deputy Mayor Jennifer McKelvie tweeted, \u201cThey\u2019re not pets. Don\u2019t feed them. Feeding wildlife conditions animals to expect food from people, putting both animals and the community at risk. Let\u2019s respect their natural habitat and enable them to thrive independently.\u201d<\/p>\n
