Do is from a small village, tucked away within the mountainous area of Dien Bien, Vietnam, about as far west as you will get from Hanoi. It\u2019s a spot seldom visited by vacationers. Or anybody, for that matter.<\/p>\n

18-year-old Do is Hmong, considered one of Vietnam\u2019s 54 acknowledged ethnic teams, and at present in Hanoi, he\u2019s politely plying me with a string of questions on my life in London. We discuss in regards to the meals, the climate, and soccer\u2014agreeing to disagree on who the most effective English staff is.<\/p>\n

Jovial although he appears, Do is a good distance from dwelling. He exhibits me a standard beaded bag that his older sister made for him. \u201cWhen I miss home, I get this out to remind me why I am here,\u201d he explains. \u201cWhen I arrived here, I cried because it is hard to be away from my family.
