Recently, I printed a collection of articles devoted to the subject of composition in pictures. Today’s photograph completely displays how I method the inventive aspect of pictures.

My purpose right here was to create the phantasm of depth in a two-dimensional photograph. First, I recognized the foreground (the vegetation and log), the midground (the tree and rocks), and the background (the distant mountains and sky).

Next, I aligned the burnt tree in accordance with the rule of thirds. Finally, I ensured the mountaineering path served as a main line inviting the viewer deeper into the composition.
