Air Astana airline resumed flights to Beijing from November 22, 2022, after suspending operations with China in March 2020 as a result of pandemic. From 2002 to 2020, greater than 1,100,000 passengers have been transported throughout this route.
From March 18, 2023, Air Astana will resume flights from Astana to Beijing with a frequency of two per week on Wednesdays and Saturdays and an additional improve set for summer time. The flights can be operated on Airbus A321LRs.
In addition, from March 2, 2023, the airline will improve the frequency of flights from Almaty to Beijing to 4 instances every week with plans to extend this to every day flights in the course of the summer time season. These can be operated on Airbus A321LR and Airbus A321neo.
