Carnival Spirit Rescues 24 People Stranded on Small Boat

Carnival Spirit’s crew rescued 24 individuals stranded on a small boat within the Caribbean Sea on Tuesday.

Carnival Spirit was at sea crusing towards Aruba, close to the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico, when the ship’s officers noticed the group in misery. The crew introduced the entire 24 individuals to security.

The group was checked by the ship’s medical personnel and located to be in good situation. The ship’s officers contacted Coast Guard officers from Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic to coordinate a switch. At 3 p.m., a Coast Guard cutter arrived to finish the switch close to La Romana, Dominican Republic, and Carnival Spirit resumed its voyage.

Carnival Spirit had no scheduled stops on Tuesday and her go to to Aruba on Wednesday will likely be as scheduled. The ship departed PortMiami on a week-long cruise April 8 and can return on April 15.
