Carnival Cruise Line’s second latest ship, Carnival Luminosa, has formally entered service with Carnival.
The vessel departed Brisbane, Australia on Sunday, marking the kickoff of its first Australia program and its very first voyage with income passengers below the Carnival Cruise Line model. Previously, the ship sailed as Costa Luminosa with Carnival’s sister line Costa Cruises.
Carnival Luminosa‘s maiden season will run by way of April 2023, with the ship providing largely three, 4, and seven-night Australia voyages, in addition to seven and 11-night South Pacific sailings. Later this month, Luminosa can even supply an 11-night crusing to New Zealand.
In the spring, Luminosa will cross the Pacific to Seattle to spend the summer time season working seven-night voyages to Alaska, that are very profitable for cruise strains and have gained reputation within the final a number of years.

In September, the ship will set sail on a 31-day journey again throughout the Pacific from Seattle to Brisbane. The voyage will embrace ports in Alaska, Japan, the Philippines, and Indonesia.
Carnival Luminosa was transferred to Carnival from Costa in September, and underwent a significant refit the place basic Carnival venues had been added — comparable to Alchemy Bar, Punchliner Comedy Club, Serenity Retreat, and RedFrog Rum Bar — and furnishings and interiors had been up to date to be extra consistent with the Carnival model.
The yellow funnel was painted in Carnival’s basic purple, white, and blue, though it retained its unique form and doesn’t function the “whale tail” funnel that different Carnival ships have.
Luminosa joins Carnival Splendor in Australia for the season, which has been crusing from Sydney since early October.
