Jim Martinson grew to become a double amputee after an explosion throughout his Vietnam tour. And fellow skier Jim Tecnnigkeit broke his again in a motorbike accident. Both males grew to become paraplegic following their accidents.
But neither one among them was about to let the lack of their legs take their love for snowboarding away from them. They modified their type. And they realized to tear as onerous as they ever did earlier than, on a completely new setup: a sit-ski (or a uniski).

Martinson and Tecnnigkeit got here a lot later. But each of them helped pave the best way for adaptive skiers to proceed following their ardour. These two badasses have been function fashions, inspiring generations of adaptive skiers who adopted of their sit-ski tracks.
