Lindley Lindenberg, Frankfurt – SilverKris

Located on Lindleystrasse in Frankfurt’s Ostend, an industrial port district shortly changing into a vibrant artistic quarter, the lodge is an homage to British engineer William Lindley, who deliberate Frankfurt’s drainage and sewerage system within the 1800s. Designed by native architects FrankenArchitekten, the hanging forged iron and glass façade shows the lodge’s split-level communal areas

For eating, the Leuchtendroter wine bar, bakery and restaurant sprawls all through the bottom ground. Its seasonal vegan and vegetarian menu, conceptualised by Ricky Saward, head chef of Michelin-starred Seven Swans, lists small plates for sharing. Dishes similar to onion mushroom balls with caramelised cherries and lovage use regionally sourced components; the bakery serves sandwiches and vegan truffles alongside fair-trade espresso roasted at native craft espresso makers Hoppenworth & Ploch
