Windstar Cruises’ Star Legend just lately visited its new headquarters/hometown of Miami, displaying off two new themed suites in addition to a brand-new mural.Â
The two specialty suites are impressed by Windstar’s Forbes Five-Star sister corporations The Broadmoor and Sea Island and might be rolled out to Windstar’s two different Star Plus Class yachts subsequent: Star Breeze in spring of 2023 and Star Pride in 2024.Â

Windstar’s Star Plus Class yachts have two Classic Suites situated on Deck 5 ahead. These Classic Suites on Star Legend have been remodeled, now known as The Broadmoor Suite and The Sea Island Suite. While the suites are impressed by these distinctive, luxurious properties, they aren’t an actual replication. The Broadmoor, situated in Colorado Springs, is thought for its limitless adventures and European class paired with Western appeal and mountain vistas. Sea Island is equally iconic: located on the coast of Georgia and exuding Southern appeal whereas offering the right backdrop for an distinctive array of outside actions.Â
“Unlike hotel brands that have begun offering yacht-style cruises, this is a unique example of a cruise line bringing a separate land-based experience to sea,” explains Windstar President Christopher Prelog. “It connects and cross-sells a diverse and seemingly unrelated set of travel experiences that have shared ownership.”  Â
In the Sea Island Suite, friends discover elegant touches that evoke the property’s Addison Mizner design together with curved arches, gentle partitions, and complicated wooden furnishings. “The overall look is quite coastal and airy – colors like sea-glass green are used throughout,” says Prelog. “In The Broadmoor Suite, you’ll find a traditional space with classic furniture, floral motifs, white trim with gold finishes, and wide crown molding.”Â
Several intelligent design workarounds needed to be made to honor the resorts’ designs whereas additionally assembly International Maritime Organization guidelines and accounting for normal security at sea (like changing resort throw rugs with inset carpet). For the wallcoverings, Windstar designed customized wallpapers for each suites on International Maritime Organization-certified paper. For The Broadmoor Suite a putting wallpaper adorns the suite’s bed room and walk-in closet. It is an actual duplicate of the wallpaper used at The Broadmoor Main Building designed by Julie Penrose (spouse of resort founder Spencer). Â
“Her initials are actually part of the wallpaper design, and it’s a strong statement piece from the resort that anyone who has visited will instantly recognize,” Prelog says. “It’s sweet to think that Julie’s love for travel inspired and influenced the dĂ©cor of the Broadmoor, and now her custom wallpaper will sail around the world on Windstar Cruises.”Â
Both specialty suites embody small particulars that assist carry the general Sea Island and Broadmoor experiences to life. Guests can flip via the pages of every property’s resort journal or view historic black and white images that punctuate the suites’ designs.
