Lessons from a lifetime of journey
There is a lot extra to Mike Atkinson (aka Outback Mike) than what we noticed of his 64 days, toughing it out within the wilds of Tassie’s west coast, on the primary season of SBS’ Alone Australia.
He’s been having epic expedition-style adventures since his first lengthy hike at 11 years previous together with his household and constructing in direction of his first solo journey, snowboarding from Mt Kosciusko to Canberra, aged 17.
Watching him on ALONE, I used to be drawn in by his problem-solving and seemingly infinite tinkering to construct a greater existence on the market. As you’ll hear on this episode (and may learn rather more about in his e book Modern Day Castaway), that canoe wasn’t his first.
