LIECHTENSTEIN: WINE TOURS, THE RHINE VALLEY, SKIING
For some reason, the tiny state of Liechtenstein is also not popular with tourists. This small country, only 160 square kilometres in size, located between Austria and Switzerland, boasts an abundance of attractions (there is even a 9th-century castle!), wine tours to the Vaduz factory, authentic villages in the Rhine Valley and the Malbun ski resort.
MOLDOVA: WINE, NATURE, CUISINE
What comes to mind when you hear the word Moldova? Wine, of course! Moldovan wine and ancient Orthodox monuments are what make this Eastern European country, which is not very popular with tourists, worth visiting. Numerous nature reserves, simple and sometimes familiar cuisine, as well as wine tours will make you fall in love with this country. Only here can you visit the world’s longest wine cellars, ‘Cricova’ and ‘Mici Milesti’. Or the oldest winery in Europe, ‘Purcari’, whose wine was admired by Nicholas II and Queen Victoria.
SAN MARINO: SEA, FORTRESSES, ROMANCE
San Marino is a small but very ancient state, bordered on all sides by Italy. In terms of size, it is only slightly larger than Monaco and the Vatican. From the highest point in the country, Mount Titano, you can see the Adriatic Sea, which is only 15 kilometres away. Incidentally, the country itself is located on hills, on which there are nine fortresses that are definitely worth visiting if you are in Rimini, for example.
And here there are always new social casinos
BHUTAN: PEOPLE, MOUNTAINS, THE SILENCE OF BUDDHIST TEMPLES
The land of happy people, the last Shangri-La, the Kingdom of the Thunder Dragon — these are just some of the names given to Bhutan, a country in the Himalayas forgotten by tourists. However, it is clearly not forgotten because of a lack of interesting tourist attractions — there are plenty of those! Rather, it is because of the high cost of visiting this wonderful country — tours to Bhutan are not cheap.
Bhutan is worth visiting for its authenticity — the country has only been open to mass tourism for the last 35 years, which means that it has not yet been spoiled by business and trampled by crowds. People come here for the spicy local cuisine, hand-made fabrics of all colours, trekking in the Himalayas and the tranquillity of Buddhist temples. There are also colourful festivals held here from time to time.
MONGOLIA: ALTAI, GOBY, CHINGIS KHAN
Mongolia is a great place to go for… contrasts. Only here can you see herders coming out of their yurts and talking on their mobile phones. It is from these yurts that young people go to study at European universities. At the same time, Mongolia has the cleanest lakes, the picturesque Altai Mountains, the landscapes of the Gobi Desert and monuments from the era of Genghis Khan.
SIERRA LEONE: REALITY, WILD BEACHES, THE SEA
In Africa, the Republic of Sierra Leone has earned the reputation of being the least popular country. This is hardly surprising, given that the country has endured a long civil war and its people now live below the poverty line. Although the country is located on the Atlantic coast, its beaches are not suitable for tourists, and there is virtually no tourist infrastructure.
